Library Exhibit
Doll ExhibitRegion 15 of the United Federation of Doll Clubs display is at the Olivia Rodham Memorial Library.  Many thanks to Jacqueline Roland and the Tuesday story time group for helping to get all of the dolls and characters displayed.

The library is sponsoring a traveling a traveling Doll and Book Exhibit. Each doll in the exhibit represents a book, including favorites such as "Corduroy", "Berenstain Bears", "Arthur", "Curious George", and "Snow White". There are close to 100 dolls in this exhibit.
Doll Exhibit
The purpose of the display is to stimulate interest and educate, especially young people, about the wonderful world of doll collecting.

The exhibit will be on display beginning today and will continue throughout the month of April.
Knitters & Crocheters
The Knitters & Crocheters Club will meet tomorrow at 10:00 am at the Chapel-By-The-Lake.  This enterprising group meets every other Thursday to create a variety of projects- prayer shawls; hats; mittens; and scarves for homeless and needy children; helmet liners for our troops overseas; a sampler afghan and other personal projects.

If you love to knit or crochet or would like to learn, this is the place for you!  We hope you'll join us tomorrow morning!
Supervisors of the Checklist
The Supervisors of the Checklist will be meeting on Thursday evening, March 31st at 7:00 pm.

The purpose of the meeting is to register new voters, make changes to the checklist and deal with 30-day letters that have been sent out to people who may have moved out of Nelson.

This will be in the Town Offices.
Not an April Fool's Joke
Keep your shovels and snow-blowers handy.  It looks like we'll enjoy a few more inches of the frozen white stuff on Friday, April Fool's Day.

Oh well!  We need the moisture, right?

4th Annual PTO Auction
The 4th Annual PTO Auction will be held on Saturday, April 2nd, at the NPTO Auctionelson Town Hall.  Preview hours are 10:00 am until 5:00 pm.

Among the many items up for bids are:

See you there!
Special Music featured at Service

First Tuesday Tea
Come join us this Tuesday morning, April 5th, 10:00 am at the home of Charlie & Judi Lang for our First Tuesday Tea.

First Tuesday Teas began when the Ladies Aid decided not to meet regularly. It was determined that there would still be a need for people to get out and see one another regularly.

It has since grown and changed into a monthly gathering for people who are home during the days.  Won't you join us?

GaMe NiTe @ the LiBrArY

April 5th

Everyone is Invited. Refreshments will be served.

Even in bad weather, a good group has turned out each month for Game Night at the Library. We've played Scrabble, Bananagrams, Dominoes, Mexican Train Dominoes, Trumpet, and assorted other games. A good time was had by all.

We encourage you to join us on April 5th at 7:00 pm, the last opportunity this winter. We'll also have cribbage, chess, checkers and assorted other games available.

Please come and bring your favorite game if you like, or get your favorite card game going. We'll just see what develops.

Meals on Wheels Update & Pot Luck
Susan Ashworth, Director of Community Relations of Home Healthcare, Hospice and Community Services, will meet with interested residents and pot-luckers on Thursday, April 7th, at 7:00 pm in the Melville Hall of the Nelson Congregational Church.Meals on Wheels

Susan will update the community on the progress of bringing "Meals on Wheels" to our neighborhood.  While the budget situation for human services in New Hampshire has deteriorated considerably, the need for such a program steadily grows.  Therefore, HHSC is currently working on proposals for services for next year, but the word from the Department of Health and Human Services is for less funding than last year for Meals On Wheels in the face of rising gas and food costs.

We invite you all to attend this special 1st Thursday Pot Luck Supper for April so that we can all put our heads together and come up with possible solutions.  The Pot Luck begins at 6:30 pm.

Come - Eat - Talk - Enjoy!!
March is Youth Art Month
If you have a few moments while you are in Keene, stop by the Keene Library.  Nelson School has been invited to participate in a special art program covering several elementary schools in and around Keene, as well as the Middle School, Keene High, and Monadnock Regional School.

Several at pieces created by the students from Nelson School were selected.  Of all of the submissions, only twelve were selected to be displayed.

Their artwork will be on display until April 8th.  The Library is open late, until 9:00 pm.  Congratulations to the Nelson Elementary School Artists!
