SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT
There will be no 1st Thursday Pot Luck Supper in January of 2011.

We will get together again on the 1st Thursday of February.  See you there!

Greetings!

Thank you so much for allowing me to take a day 'off' yesterday from publication.  The emails I received were so supportive and kind.  Often, I push myself too hard to try and get everything 'just right' for all of you.  And I need to step back from time to time and realize that I'm human - LOL!

So, without further ado, here is the very first newsletter for the year 2011!
Be Safe Out There!
Take your flashlight It's a new year.  So many people add 'get more exercise', or 'get more fresh air' to their New Year's resolutions.  Please, if you are outside walking or strolling in the early morning or evening hours, wear reflective clothing.
At the very least try to wear light-colored clothing and perhaps carry a flashlight.  Drivers have a very difficult time seeing you.  So please, be safe!

A Big 'Thank You'
Thanks to everyone who came out to the very first Game Night @ the Library this past Tuesday evening.  Folks had such a good time playing challenging board and card games, and they can't wait for the first Tuesday of next month!

One person has reported that she and her husband enjoyed meeting new people, and that they even had the opportunity to teach a game to some of the attendees.

The next Game Night @ the Library will be Tuesday, February 1st, from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm
Everyone is invited, and refreshments will be served.

This past Tuesday we had 15 people turn out to play Scrabble, Bananagrams, and various board games and card games. A good time was had by all.  We encourage you to join us in February.  We'll also have cribbage, chess, checkers and assorted other games available. Please come and bring your favorite game if you like, or get your favorite card game going.  We'll just see what people have an interest in.
Let's make use of the Library as a space for Nelsonites to gather during the dark of the winter.  We hope to see you there!

For more information, please contact the Trustees of the Library:

Interwoven anecdotes, revealing her past and present, bring people to expect a relationship between themselves and memories driven deep with the passage of time.
