Mississauga Board of Trade (MBOT) hosted Doing Business with India at the Glenerin Inn on June 28, 2012. The event served as a unique opportunity for individuals and the business community to learn about India, its vibrant economy, and positional opportunities for their businesses.

The event included speakers familiar with the India market for exporting, importing, sourcing and partnering, as well as businesses that are successfully doing business with India.

ITS in Mississauga Online Employer Resource Feature: Part 5

ITS (Internationally Trained & Skilled) in Mississauga is a program funded by the Ontario Government, an initiative of the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and is part of the Global Experience at Work Program.

The objective of ITS in Mississauga is to create and increase awareness amongst employers on the benefits of hiring Internationally Trained Professionals.

Through the program Mississauga Board of Trade has identified barriers & challenges businesses face when hiring foreign trade professionals. We then explored and identified key service support agencies that are able to help navigate employers through the process of hiring Internationally Trained Professionals.

For the ease and convenience of employers, each agency was individually profiled at www.itsinmississauga.ca under "Employer Resource," but we didn't stop there.

We also travelled to their offices and filmed them to discuss the services they provide and how they have helped local businesses (employers who have used their services were also interviewed).

This installment features is with HireImmigrants.ca

Hospital Launches First Phase
of Community Engagement Program

The Credit Valley Hospital and Trillium Health Centre have begun a series of community engagement activities designed to determine what is most important to patients and the community as the Board of Directors shape a strategic plan for the newly merged hospital. Residents and stakeholders are encouraged to provide input by accessing www.cvhthc.ca.

In the coming months the hospital will continue reaching out to the community through a range of additional engagement opportunities, including focus groups, virtual consultations, and telephone town halls.
