In light of the tragic increase in adolescent suicides as a result of bullying, Mark has been particularly interested in various aspects of the bullying phenomenon from both the perspective of the victim as well as that of the bully. His website has several new articles and blog entries on the topic, addressing topics such as:
· How does it affect victims?
· What makes bullies bully?
· Are parents contributing to this terrible issue?
· What can be done to stop this trend?
is a BIG problem. It can lead to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, and even suicide in some cases. Qualified mental health professionals are trained in techniques that can be effective in helping children who are victimized, as well as in changing the aggressive behavior patterns of children who are bullying.
This bullying epidemic must stop. If you suspect that your child is bullying, please take this behavior very seriously and get your child the help he/she needs to change. And likewise, if your child is suffering as a victim, it crucial that you take the issue seriously and get him/her the support necessary to make this problem stop (such as school teachers & administrators, therapist, etc.).
If you'd like more information or help regarding a bullying issue, you are welcome to contact Mark by emailing or calling him at (516) 731-7611. One last thought, it was recently brought to Mark's attention that it's possible the online retailer Amazon pulled a book from stock that instructs pedophiles in the way of "proper behavior". If this is so, then Shame On Amazon for even considering the sale of it.
