The Cattery Newsletter - The Scratching PostJune 2011
Dear Friends,

National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month was a success!  We want to thank the ASPCA and Fresh Step for creating a great campaign!  During the total month of June we had 55 adoptions!  The most exciting part of that is 27 of those adoptions were adults!  We couldn't be happier that all of these kitties found new homes this month!

The summer is always a slow time for donations for any non profit.  People are on vacation, they're out enjoying the warm weather, they are attempting to live as care-free as possible!  Unfortunately the kitties at the shelter don't get to go on vacation, so they still need the bare necessities!  As always, we have thought of  ways you can give to shelter, and have fun doing it!  Below you will read about out 2012 Cattery Calendar and how you can participate!  We have other fun things planned for the summer, so check back on our website or on FaceBook!

Have a happy and safe summer!

Sincerely,

Samantha Person
Shelter Director

July is Kitten-Palooza!

Spring time is often referred to as 'Kitten Season' because so many kittens are born during that time.  All those kittens that were born back in the spring are now ready for adoption!  And we have a ton of them!  This July all kittens (age 8 weeks to 5 months) adopted can take a buddy home at no additional adoption fee!  That's 2 kitties 'fur' 1 adoption fee!  It's always good to adopt kittens in pairs so they won't get lonely when you're not home!   Of course, if you double the kitties, you double the fun!

Picture your Cat in our 2012 Calendar!

For only $10 your cat's picture can be in our 2012 Calendar!  Pay your $10 fee by clicking HERE.  Then, email us a high resolution picture to thecatterycc@aol.com, along with your cat's name and birthday!

This is a cute way to make your kitty a star and help out homeless cats as well!

Anyone can participate!  Send in your pictures soon!  The deadline is July 15th!

The cost of entering your cat's photo into the calendar does not include the cost of purchasing a calendar.

Advertise your Business in our 2012 Calendar!

What better way for your business to show it cares about it's community than to place an ad in The Cattery's 2012 calendar!  For $50 each month (you choose the amount of months) you will show your community that you are a vital participant in helping curb the cat overpopulation problem in Texas and help find homes for our shelter kitties!

For more information on how you can participate, please call Samantha at (361) 854-MEOW (6369) and leave a message under option 8.  Hurry!  There are only 48 spots available!

About The Cattery

The Cattery offers an alternative to traditional animal shelters in providing a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats.  From there, we seek permanent, loving homes for these animals.  In addition, our organization promotes public awareness regarding the value of animals and their welfare, the dangers of pet overpopulation, and the benefit of quality human-animal companionship.
