Dear Friends,
We had another great year at the Meow Mixer! Over $14,000 was brought in by this year's event, with over $13,000 in profit for the cats and kittens of The Cattery! A great time was had by all - if you missed it, you missed a great meal and a very yummy dessert donated by Simply Elegant! Adoptions continue to be at an all time high, which is great because we can save even more lives! Bringing in more kitties, means more expenses, so please consider donating. This month marks our 2011 Virtu-Adoption campaign (explained below), so please think about that as an option! You get something fun in return for your donation, which makes the program really popular! We hope you are having a wonderful Spring and hope to see you out at the shelter! Sincerely,
Samantha Person Shelter Director

2011 Virtu-Adoption Campaign April marks the beginning of our yearly Virtu-Adoption Campaign. If you're not familiar with this program, it is our monthly giving program that is really what keeps our shelter open and operating - It's that important. Everyone that participates in this program literally makes it possible for the shelter to continue it's work of saving the lives of our city's homeless, abused and abandoned kitties. For those of you already participated, along with the shelter staff and volunteers, you are responsible for saving the lives of over 900 cats to date, and countless others in the future. Pat yourselves on the back! To become involved in our life saving work, click HERE to sign up on our website via PayPal. For a minimum of $15 per month, you will receive a monthly email and picture of your cat. We chose the cats on the list to be part of the program because their forever home might be right here at The Cattery due to their age, temperament or medical issues. Your monthly donation ensures that not only will these cats and others like them have a home here, but also provides refuge for thousands of other cats that are just passing through on the way to their forever homes. Thousands of lives saved for just $15 a month - that's a pretty good return on investment! If you would rather send a check or have us draft a credit card, please download the Virtu-Adoption Form and mail to The Cattery @ PO Box 8575, Corpus Christi, TX, 78468. |

Volunteer Spotlight
Phyllis Loeffler
Our volunteer Phyllis is featured this month in our Volunteer Spotlight. She has been volunteering for almost a year now, faithfully on Monday mornings. In addition to her normal volunteer duties, Phyllis is one of the people that creates and alters outfits for Viginia (one of our kitties that you can virtually adopt!)! She is very creative and even made Viginia's Halloween outfit, which was a honey bee!
Thank you Phyllis, for being a dependable volunteer and going beyond your standard volunteer duties for the cats and kittens of The Cattery!
Do you want to volunteer like Phyllis? Read more about volunteering HERE.

About The Cattery
The Cattery offers an alternative to traditional animal shelters in providing a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned cats. From there, we seek permanent, loving homes for these animals. In addition, our organization promotes public awareness regarding the value of animals and their welfare, the dangers of pet overpopulation, and the benefit of quality human-animal companionship.
