Dear Friends,
It has been another great month of adoptions! 28 so far, with a few more days in July yet to go! While we are very happy that all of these kitties have found great new homes, we are also a little worried about our financial situation. Summer is always a bad time for donations because people are away on vacation, and using all of their extra money on having fun! We would be doing that as well, but the kitties have held us all hostage this summer because they don't think there is anywhere we need to be, besides with them! We have several new ideas to help raise badly needed funds for the kitties - and in addition to donating, we hope our loyal readers and supporters (that's you) will help in getting others to donate and support as well! Read the article below for more details!
Sincerely, Samantha Person Shelter Director |
Volunteer Spotlight
Shannette Hoelscher
Shannette is another one of our great volunteers that has been with us since we opened. She has almost done it all! From helping with office work, to event setup and planning, to writing all of our press releases and even adopting a cat (!), she has been a huge help! Thanks Shannette for your dedication to the cats and kittens of The Cattery!
You too can be a volunteer! Please see our website for more details! |

New Fundraisers and ways to help The Cattery!
Enter your chance to win a spot in our Cattery Calendar! This year, in addition to our shelter calendar, we will be producing a calendar of cats that have been adopted from the shelter. Each month will feature a picture of the adopted cat in their home and their adoption story. First place will be on the cover of the calendar! You can enter your chance to win a spot in the calendar by emailing a picture of your cat, your adoption story and by sending a $25 entry fee. All participants will receive a free calendar and winners will of course receive the fame and notoriety of being featured in a calendar! Click HERE to enter! Donate your change to the 'kitty' to help our shelter kitties! This is a way all of you can help the shelter raise badly needed funds! Supporters and volunteers pick up one of these cute tubes (or you can have a blank one and decorate it yourself). For one week, you ask your friends, loved ones, and co-workers to donate their change to our shelter. Encourage people to donate by challenging them to bring their lunch each day to work instead of eating out and donate the difference. Or drink regular coffee one day instead of the $7 frappe carmel machifroto thingamagig and donate the difference. Or, instead of getting a soda at lunch, get water with lemon and donate the difference! There are lots of ways people can sacrifice just a little and donate that change to make a huge difference to our shelter! At the end of the week, you turn in your tube - you'll be surprised at how much money you can raise for the kitties!Sponsor an adoption fee!For a donation of $75, you can sponsor the adoption fee of the cat of your choice. While on the surface, this program may not seem to help the shelter, as we would get the adoption fee when the cat is adopted anyway. However, your generosity will inspire others to donate as well. When adopters find out that the kitty they want has had their adoption fee sponsored by a kind-hearted individual, they will be moved to donate as well. For example, during June, our adult kitties had all of their adoption fees waived. One adopter was so moved, that she actually donated $100 - more than the adoption fee would have been anyway! Kindness leads to kindness!Click HERE to sponsor an adoption fee! |

| Cat Only Boarding! |
When booking your vacation this summer, don't forget to make boarding reservations for your kitty! The Cattery offers cat only boarding, so your cat won't be offended by lots of barking dogs. While you are away, your cat will enjoy a 2 story condo with separate litterbox area, playtime, room service twice a day and music! We also use Feliway to calm the nerves of even the most anxious cat.
Condos are just $12 a day, so make your reservations now!

About The Cattery
| |
The Cattery offers an alternative to traditional animal shelters in
providing a no-kill, cage-free haven for homeless, abused, or abandoned
cats. From there, we seek permanent, loving homes for these animals.
In addition, our organization promotes public awareness regarding the
value of animals and their welfare, the dangers of pet overpopulation,
and the benefit of quality human-animal companionship.
