June has proven to be a very busy and successful month for our shelter!  Our 'National Adopt a Shelter Cat Month' specials grabbed the public's attention and in June, we had 30 adoptions!! We're all very excited about the adoptions, not only because all of the kitties deserved to finally find their forever homes, but also because we have been very overcrowded this Spring and Summer.  While still very full at the shelter and in foster care, the shelter is at a more manageable number which makes it  healthier for everyone! 

Our Virtu-Adoption Campaign came to a close last week and we ended with 76 Virtu-Adopters.  We need 300 to completely cover our overhead expenses, which would leave all fundraising money to go to expansion of programs and helping even more kitties!  Even though we aren't at our goal, we are headed in the right direction!  Please continue to tell all of your cat loving friends about this cute program that means so much to our shelter.

We also started a new partnership with Petsmart in which we have cats on display all week.  This gives them 12 hours per day, 7 days a week that people can see them and potentially adopt them. This wouldn't happen otherwise, as we only have the funds to staff a person at Petsmart on the weekend!  We hope this will decrease the amount of time between a cat entering the shelter and going home - so far it has been a big success!
