16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. - Ephesians 4:16 NLT
When we started passing out meals to people living in the weekly and extended stay motels in Branson, we had absolutely no idea that so many lives were going to be transformed, our own included. We started with 48 meals in our living room and currently pass out 570 meals, over 50,000 since we started, with close to 100 volunteers wanting to make a difference each week. As we reached out to the hidden homeless of our community, we started to see needs arise beyond the physical hunger. With the help of many caring people, volunteers, community and financial partners, we were able to expand our efforts by hosting monthly BBQ's and weekly "Life Support" discussion groups held at the motels. The BBQ's were a chance to build relationships while the weekly discussion groups offered a safe place to explore God. We added a bike program to help with transportation needs for those who have no means of transportation, a monthly internet church service for people far from God who are skeptical of traditional church and will be hosting our 4th annual Thanksgiving Day dinner serving approximately 500 people.
We've had to run these outreaches at different locations due to physical space and financial availability reasons, while faithfully praying for a centralized location that many of our clientele could walk to. It seems as if God has answered that prayer by providing us with a donated space located on the 76 strip - it couldn't be a better fit. The location is ideal but needs a lot of remodeling to fit the needs being offered.
Here is an awesome video that was done for us to help cast our vision,
CONNECT People - SERVE Needs GROW Spiritually - LEAD Others
We feel stronger than ever that God has us on a path to help turn our community upside down. We feel like God is definitely up to something and that something is going transform lives. That something is going to take those that are broken and hurting and help heal them and put them on a path of serving for His Kingdom. We feel so led by God that the space He has provided for us is going to be a place that will be safe for people to come, begin that healing process and connect with God. If you watch this video and your heart is moved, there's a way you can help be even more a part of this vision.
You can be a part of the "SOMETHING" We both work regular jobs and we need to ask for YOUR help with this project. We are 100% volunteer based, meaning we don't pay any salaries or wages of any kind. This is only possible with the help of all the incredible volunteers. To keep the financial costs down and to help make sure as much goes into the food outreach as possible we are needing volunteer workers. This upcoming Saturday, October 22nd, we are having a work day dedicated to pulling up the old carpet and prepping the floor that is in the new location. We are starting at 9:00 am and working until around 5:00 pm that evening. We know this is short notice and you may not be able to help this Saturday but there are ways you can still be part of the vision as we will need people with the following skills or you can make a tax-deductible donation.
Sheet Rock Finisher - Electrician
Painter - General Construction
Please ask God to share the vision with you, place on your heart those in our community that are broken, hungry and hurting and help us reach those that are radically far from God so that He will radically turn our community upside down.
