Spornette Gains Another Family Member! We hope your May has been a successful one. Spornette is on its way to even more success with our hiring of Gloria Bullock, our new Creative Director. Gloria brings a wide range of experience to Spornette. She has worked as a hairstylist, a national account manager for several major Professional Beauty lines, a DSC for several large distributorships, and was a small business owner. Her experience brings Spornette a well rounded person who can assist the company in developing new product lines and upgrading our existing brands. Alan, Laurie, and I worked with Gloria and Mark Ott in Tampa this past week and came up with some exciting ideas for Spornette's future. We also joined our friend Lisa for a lovely seafood dinner, a delicious side dish of jicama and, well, half the menu. Gloria gained some great insight into Spornette and learned that appetizers are part of our budget expense.

To celebrate this momentous event, we have been coming out with some great stock promotions. For the month of June, one of our most popular series, the Extended Nylon Rounders, otherwise known as the 960-XL, 962-XL, and 964-XL, is heavily discounted. These brushes perform the perfect blowout with almost any type of hair. We have sold them for over 25 years and for some stylists, the XLs are the only brushes they use. I thank these nylon rounders for putting me through college! I hope our distributors pass this extra savings to their stylists and customers. The Lightest Thing in the Spornette Office is... Not a Sporn. However, our new Ultra Lites are the lightest aerated rounders you will ever pick up. New bristling technology features bristles embedded on the outside of the barrel as opposed to any ordinary rounder that has bristles coming from the inside of the barrel. How does this help you and the stylist? For one thing, the Ultra Lites weigh less so there is less stress on your hand, and the empty barrel allows for more air flow. I love showing an Ultra Lite to customers for the first time just to see their expressions when they realize how light it feels in their hands. Spornette Seeks Students! Bonnie and I had the great pleasure of selling Spornette brushes at two student shows this past month. I attended the Barristar Student show in Anaheim, California. The students loved the deals we had on our brushes, and for some this was their first introduction to Spornette. Bonnie also had great success in Hershey, Pennsylvania at the Empire Future Professionals Expo. In fact, she almost sold out the entire booth!
