We have been blessed...

The Atascadero Bible Church has been aware of our financial difficulties which has led them to be lenient with our rent payments over the past two years.  However, in an effort to be even more supportive of the school, the church has decided to FORGIVE our past due amounts and not charge any rent for the remainder of the school year.  This generosity amounts to about $40,000.  Pastor Tom has indicated to us that the elders and deacons feel that even though this represents a sacrifice to ABC, the success of NCCS is too important and that the time for them to help us out is now.  We are grateful for their encouragement, this financial help and their long-term prayer and support!

Message From the Administrator

As the North County Christian family has faced multiple changes and challenges, I would like to thank each of you for your continued support and prayers.  I am looking forward to the direction and opportunities God has in store for our school as I am encouraged by the outpouring of parent involvement and support to North County Christian School.  The Lord continues to bless us with committed teachers, parents, and community partners.  As we desire to be more Christ-like, please join me in counting the many blessing He bestows daily.

In His Service,

In December, Mrs. Penland's 4th Grade class went to Cold Canyon as a culminating field trip on their recycling unit.  Students had the opportunity to learn about the landfill, its general structure, the falcons that keep the seagulls away, and to visit the recycling learning center.  At the recycling learning center, students were able to learn how recycling is sorted and different items that are made from recycled materials.  This was an engaging experience for all involved! _______________

  Box Tops

Easy way to help earn money and points for our school...Collect Boxtops!!!

Boxtops for Education,
The way boxtops work is each .10 cent box top collected is mailed into the box tops for education headquarters by the school's coordinator. A check for the total boxtops is sent in December and April back to the school!
We received a check in December for $740. Part of the money was used to purchase laminating paper for the school's laminating machine while the rest went into the general fund.

Parents, friends, co-workers, family etc. can help by:

1. Collect boxtops from participating products and send them to school with their child.

2. Go to the boxtops website register with our school. www.boxtops4education.com. The website lets them know what our school's goal is and how close we are to that goal. It gives many other ideas on ways to earn box tops for our school, such as eBoxTops. The parents can click and earn extra box tops for our school by shopping online, clicking a daily survey, and by listening to short videos and answering 3 short questions at the end of the video and much, much more!
Today it took me all but 10 minutes to earn our school 9 eBoxTops. I encourage parents to take some time and look over the entire website.
3. Labels for Education
Send labels and lids to school! How labels and (qualified juice lids)  work: Each barcode from the participating products is worth either 1pt, 5pts, 10pts, sometimes more. They are collected and mailed into the Labels for Education headquarters by the school's coordinator. The points are held in a "bank" for our school. There is a catalog provided on-line which the school can purchase items from.

Crusader Teams Reaching Mid-Season Form

After losing their first and only game to date, to league rival Valley Christian Academy, the Lady Crusaders have won four straight! This tightens their grip on second place, while leaving themselves in a good position to defend their Coast Valley League crown when they play Valley Christian again on January 31st in Santa Maria.

Notable records were set in the Maricopa game, last week.  Senior post Brianna Feld scored her 1000th point joining three other former Lady Crusaders.  Feld will likely challenge Mary Shannon's record of 1099 points before the end of the season.  As a team, NCC shot 49% in the 55-39 win, establishing a record for field goal percentage, just one missed shot shy of a whopping 50%.

The girls and guys have home games against Shandon, January 27th, Maricopa February 3rd, before finishing up the regular season hosting Orcutt Academy on February 10th.  Home games are played at Atascadero's Colony Park Community Center.

Not to be outdone, the Crusader guys also swept Maricopa and Cuyama Valley, playing one of their best games in a 66-38 win over visiting Cuyama Valley.  Senior Daniel Katches has led the way offensively, averaging a bit more than 13 points per game, with lots of support from his 14 teammates.  All 15 players saw action against Cuyama, including Blake Marchell who made his season debut after recovering from a football injury.  The boys are currently locked into 3rd place in league play.

The girls' and guys Junior High teams have also played well since their season started earlier this month.  The girls, coached by Ranay Schmandt, are to date undefeated, while the boys, coached by Larry Halderman helped complete a sweep at Shandon, recently with a heart-stopping one-point win.
Keep up the good work, Crusaders!
