Amici Ticket Sales Erupt as Alumni Weekend in Bologna is Canceled!
Greetings!
The 2009 Amici di Bologna dinner and reception at UN headquarters was a sellout success. Due to the cancellation of this year's Alumni Weekend in Bologna, we are expecting even greater demand for our limited number of tickets. Don't be left out this year! Join Director Ken Keller, members of the faculty and staff, your fellow Bolognese and guests to help us celebrate our ties to each other and this unique institution. This year's event will take place in New York on Saturday, June 5th from 4:30pm until 10:00pm. To purchase your tickets online, click here.
This year's venue is the Desmond Tutu Conference Center, located on the grounds of the historic General Theological Seminary in New York's Chelsea neighborhood. Founded in 1822, GTS is the oldest Episcopal seminary in the U.S. Our reception will take place outdoors on the lawn of the "quad" in the heart of the campus. Guests will sit down to dinner in the Seminary's beautiful wood paneled refectory which dates from 1899.
As a special incentive, the first 75 people to buy their tickets will be offered a private guided tour of the seminary to take place immediately before the start of our academic panel. The tour will last approximately 45 minutes.
Our Academic Panel
features Director Ken Keller and Professors Erik Jones, Karim Mezran
and Tom Row. The panel's focus will be Islam in Europe. Following brief
presentations by each panelist, the audience will be invited to ask
questions and join in the discussion.
Proceeds from the sale of tickets and silent auction items, net of expenses, will go to benefit the Bologna Center. We are also seeking individual and corporate sponsors to help us underwrite this event and thus generate an even bigger return for the Center. If you would like to be a sponsor or know a company which might agree to co-sponsor this event, please see the Amici Registration page for more details.
Please also help us reach out to all Bolognese by forwarding a copy of this newsletter to your friends and classmates. Just click on this link and enter their email addresses.

We look forward to seeing you in New York!
A presto,
Tom Tesluk, BC '81 Chairman |

Silent Auction Update
We have a number of exciting items to offer you in this year's silent auction. Thanks to Advisory Council member Martin Fraenkel, we can offer a one week stay at a flat in central London AND a week at a country cottage in Dorset. Other items include four tickets to a Broadway show, jewelry and gift certificates.
Click here to contact our auction coordinator Daniela Kaisth if you would like to contribute any items for our auction including a stay in your vacation house, tickets to shows or sporting events or gift certificates. All proceeds will benefit the Bologna Center. Grazie!
