Has anyone been following the news lately?

Being "A Part of Your Community" means following closely to local regulations and initiatives.  Here is a few things we have been following in order to service our clients needs:

  • Kitchener is planning on changing the rules for outdoor fire pits.  There have been a lot of complaints about smoke into neighbours yards.  It is important that before you purchase or build a fire pit that you check local bylaws.  There are regulations for each municipality.  To read the entire article on what Kitchener is doing:  Record Article May 28

When asked to design a backyard with a fire pit, Rob will let you know if your backyard is eligible for a fire pit.

  • The public school system is taking steps to increase school yard shade.  When temperatures reach in the 90's, something has to be done.  What better way to decrease the heat on a school yard?  Increase the shade & add some trees.  TNT has been helping with school yard greening initiatives for a few years now.  We have participated in all of Dennis Wendland's classes through the Evergreen Foundation.  Our last school yard installation occurred at Canadian Martyrs School in Kitchener.  Each year,  Landscape Ontario (Rob is the current local Chapter President) assists the local Evergreen Foundation with a planting at a local school.  To read more about what the Public Board is doing:  Schoolyard Article May 30

Please contact us for pricing for delivery of mulch to your schoolyard.  Now that we bring in 125 yards of mulch at a time, we can offer special pricing for schoolyard greening initiatives.  We are here to help.

In Your Community

This month TNT is sponsoring a few Golf events in the region. We typically like to be a 'hole sponsor' for these tournaments.  We show up the day of the tournament and man our hole, offering an extra opportunity for participants to ask questions about our company and services and....enter to win a prize!

Our first golf tournament was on May 30th for St. Anthony Daniel Parish.

The first tournament in June is on the 16th for the Grand Valley Construction Association at Conestoga Country Club.

The second tournament is the 911 Youth Charity Golf Tournament on June 17 at Doon Valley Golf course with proceeds going towards providing financial assistance to children and youth serving community groups and agencies that deliver recreation and leisure activities for Kitchener youth. Learn more about the City of Kitchener's Youth Program Grants that are supported by proceeds of this tournament: 911 Youth Charity

As well as sponsoring these events Robert Tester was interviewed by the Kitchener Record, making comments about the recent abnormal amount of rainfall. Read Article.

As Spring is well under way, TNT has been helping out with St. Mary High School's bid to become EcoSchool Certified.  The school has been working hard to implement eco friendly options and TNT was asked to assist with providing mulch and some native plants:  Black Eyed Susans.  To learn more about the program visit:  EcoSchools

June 21st....come and support the Shriners Circus.  Each year, TNT supports the Circus in order to support the Shriners Hospitals.  Tickets are available at the Waterloo Memorial Recreation Complex.  Show times are at 4pm and 7:30 pm.  For more information:  Click Here

TNT is looking to sponsor some golf tournaments.

Please share our contact information if you know of a community group/organization looking for sponsorships, door prizes or silent auction items.
