Parent Survey Results
Thank you to the thirty-six (36) parents and other caregivers who completed our Fall 2011 survey. We work hard to provide a positive experience for families and are proud to highlight some important results. In general, every parent who responded reported:
- the rec. center is SAFE,
- the rec. center is FUN, and
- the programs and services offered at the rec. center are HIGH QUALITY.
When asked to rate their family's overall experience with Irving Recreation Center, 91.4% said "Good" or "Excellent" and 8.6% said "Average."
On the other hand, Health and Wellness is a primary focus of Lincoln Parks and Recreation Programs but many of our parents reported their children were not experiencing these opportunities at the rec. center last fall.
- Physical activity - 71%
- Value of healthy living - 29%
- Healthy food choices - 23%
This type of detailed feedback will be used to help improve program experiences this spring. For example, we will push harder on current initiatives such as our after school fruit stand and existing clubs and activities that promote health and wellness. In addition, you are going to find us rolling out plenty of new opportunities starting this month. Check out our calendar and let us know what you think!
If you didn't complete a survey but have thoughts to share, please contact us at 402-441-7954 or dpayzant@lincoln.ne.gov. Thanks, again! |
Congratulations Irving Rec. Center Aardbots!
Congratulations to both of the rec. center robotics teams who competed in the Nebraska FIRST LEGO League regional tournament on UNL's East Campus last month. The Aardbots qualified to participate in the State Championship at the Nebraska Robotics Expo on February 18.
