| Carpel Tunnel Syndrome & Acupuncture -
Is It Effective? | |
Acupuncture and oriental medicine are very effective for carpel tunnel syndrome. At The Center, we have helped many patients with this painful disorder, and have kept several clients out of surgery.
First and foremost, even if you have been diagnosed with carpel tunnel, we would re-evaluate to see if that's what you really have. It may turn out that you have Thoracic Outlet Syndrome (TOS). TOS and carpel tunnel have similar signs and symptoms; numb, tingling or burning hands, pain in the wrists and/or hands.
Treatment consists of a series of acupuncture treatments, Tui Na (a form of therapeutic massage), a topical anti-inflammatory, stretches, and sometimes Chinese herbs and other supplements.
Results of treatment vary depending on severity, and compliance with treatment recommendations. Most clients have a significant reduction in symptoms within the first 3-4 treatments, usually enough to keep them out of surgery.

| Massage Therapy for Your Health |
Massage therapy is one of the oldest healing arts in the world. Touch affects all the systems in the body. As an accepted part of many physical rehabilitation programs, massage therapy has proven beneficial for many chronic conditions including low back pain, arthritis, bursitis, fatigue, high blood pressure, diabetes, immunity suppression, infertility, smoking cessation, depression, and more. And, as many millions will attest, massage also helps relieve the stress and tension of everyday living that can lead to disease and illness.
Experts estimate that more than ninety percent of disease is stress related. Nothing ages us faster, internally and externally, than high stress. Massage can, without a doubt, help manage stress. This means:
· Decreased anxiety.
· Enhanced sleep quality.
· Greater energy.
· Improved concentration.
· Increased circulation.
· Reduced fatigue.
Getting a massage will do you a world of good. Getting a massage frequently can do even more. The beauty of bodywork is that its effects are cumulative. Therefore, taking part in this form of regularly scheduled self-care can play a huge part in how healthy you'll be and how youthful you'll remain with each passing year. Budgeting time and money for bodywork at consistent intervals is truly an investment in your health. Consider massage appointments a necessary piece of your health and wellness plan.
