PLAY AGAIN - FREE MOVIE NIGHT

Play Again Film Screening
Parent Cabinet will be screening Play Again, a FREE outdoor movie about "the consequences of a childhood removed from nature," on Thursday, October 4th from 6:30-8:30 pm.
- Bring beach chairs/ blankets, etc.
- Pizza slices and baked goods will be on sale to purchase needed Games equipment.
- Parents are encouraged to find their own childcare for this occasion.

JOURNEY SCHOOL BOARD MEETING TONIGHT
|
The Journey School Board of Directors is meeting tonight at 6pm in the office conference room. The agenda is always posted online. Parent and community leadership provides Journey with a strong foundation for decision-making. All parents are invited to attend. We'd like to welcome our new board and thank them for their important service to our school. Look for bios in the newsletter and on our website soon.

WHY KIDS NEED SCHOOLS TO CHANGE

KQED's Mindshift blog covered the topic of "Why Kids Need Schools to Change" in relation to "Challenge Success, a school training program at Stanford that's been incorporated into about 100 schools across the country."

WAHOO'S ONE TIME DISCOUNT DAY (OCT. 5)

Thank you to all who've made the All School Lunch Program an early success! On Friday, October 5th, we are offering a one-time "discount day" to allow the kids an opportunity to try those tasty Wahoo's quesadillas for just $3.75! Kindy families can participate too by picking lunches up at the lunch area before going home! For those of you who have already turned in your orders for the 5th, you will have a $0.50 credit toward your next order. Most of our After School Classes still have room for new students, so sign up now with one of our talented providers. Detailed flyers and information about how to sign-up directly with the providers can be found on the After School Programs page of our website.

PARENT HANDWORK CLASS START MONDAY
|
A weekly handwork class will be offered to Journey School Parents on Mondays from 8:30-10:30 am beginning this Monday, October 1st. Liz Clark and Uschi Friebauer will launch the series with beginning knitting. In week two parents will create felted gnomes. All classes are $15 and will be held in the Handwork Room. JOURNEY T-SHIRTS ARE HERE!

Now you can wear your Journey school pride "on your sleeve." Parent Cabinet is offering adult and children's sizes in a variety of colors, including rainbow and single color tie-dye. Vist the Parent Cabinet Website to see the choices and prices. Orders are due October 9th - so don't delay!
