Community Supported Agriculture
Journey families can now have a large basket of organic farm fresh fruits and vegetables from South Coast Farms delivered to school for pick up.
CSA families can choose to receive a regular or large size basket of seasonal organic foods bi-weekly. A regular basket averages about 15-20 different items and a large averages 17-22 items. The large baskets also include more of certain items. Baskets will be delivered to Journey School on Tuesdays beginning on April 26th.
BENEFITS OF CSA
There are many benefits to the CSA program at South Coast Farms. Our families will have access to the freshest local foods, often harvested on the day baskets are made. The varieties of fruits and vegetables we choose to plant are selected for flavor, not shelf life or for eye appeal. Be assured that all the fruits and vegetables are certified organic and grown by local farmers! Your support is important to our small family farm, as well as the community of greater south Orange County. We are the only 100 percent, certified organic farm in south Orange County. Your commitment to be a part of our community provides your families and hundreds of other families access to healthy, nutritious certified organic fruits and vegetables grown in our local area. Your support helps Orange County's farm heritage to continue in a more sustainable, locally involved direction!
A TYPICAL BASKET
Contents of CSA baskets change seasonally, an example basket in spring quarter would include: chard, onions. beets, broccoli, lettuce, parsley, kale, avocado, navel oranges, lemons, apples, grapefruit, pears, potatoes, kiwi and cabbage. In order to guarantee delivery to our school we need a minimum of 15 families signed up. Look for information on sign-up and pricing in the following weeks. If you would like more information contact april_poggi@yahoo.com.
