Circus Joy
Journey School is proud to offer our children the physical education expertise of Joy Halverson. Joy will teach Games/Circus Arts to all grades classes except 4th grade (to be taught by Gavin Keller).
Please remind your children that tennis shoes and clothing that
allows full participation are required for Games/Circus Arts. (Avoid sandals and skirts
please!)
In order for your child to be excused from Games/Circus Arts,
please send a note detailing physical limitations. Partial
participation may be possible, even with an injury; for example, plate
spinning and juggling can still be accomplished with a sprained ankle!
The schedule is as follows: 1st Grade: Thursdays and Fridays
2nd Grade: Mondays and Tuesdays
3rd Grade: Tuesdays and Thursdays
4th Grade: Mondays (with Mr. Keller)
5th Grade: Mondays and Thursdays
6th Grade: Tuesdays
7th Grade: Fridays
8th Grade: Fridays
Participation in physical education is important across the grades, but especially so for 5th-8th grades who will also be running daily, participating in
fitness testing, and preparing for other grade specific events.
A full curriculum of Games/Circus Arts, including expectations and requirements of the years' activities, will be sent home soon.
Additionally, Games/Circus Arts is in need of a storage facility that can house equipment such as balls, hurdles, exercise mats, javelins, tight rope, etc. If anyone is able to donate a shed that can be placed near the Kindy yard, please contact Joy at circusjoy@mac.com or 949-697-9625.

Journey Music
 Where words fail, music speaks!!
(Hans Christian Andersen)
Journey's budding music program recognizes that your children love to speak through their music -- in a variety of "voices". Our hope is to build a wide selection of hand percussion instruments, chime bars, glockenspiels, etc.
If you can help by donating instruments or writing grants to grow our musical offerings to the students, please contact Diana Corbo at museforlife@cox.net.
