Join us on

children and ourselves. Children are always welcome, but you may wish to bring
a toy. Handouts are provided when available.

Snacking
on Temperaments
We've all
heard the term temperament, but what are they anyway? This workshop will be a
fun way to explore the temperaments. Ideas and examples are offered for how to feed
a finicky melancholic or a gourmand phlegmatic, a nibbling sanguine or a hearty
choleric. Getting your child to eat the snacks and lunches you pack may be as
easy as packing a meal that fits their temperament. No cooking skills required! This workshop will meet in the
Kitchen Classroom.

Simplicity
Parenting
A three part book discussion of Kim John
Payne's parenting book: Simplicity
Parenting: Using the Extraordinary Power of Less to Raise Calmer, Happier, and
More Secure Kids. This is a wonderful book for parents of
children of all ages. Payne, a Waldorf educator and consultant, shares a remedy for
protecting and guiding our children in this overscheduled and overwhelming
culture. The book offers hands-on ideas and thoughtful insights.
Together we will
collaborate on how to begin to bring the concepts and ideas from the book into
our real everyday busy lives. While reading the book will add to your
enrichment, for those who aren't ready to commit to reading the whole book or
are only able to join us on one of the dates, the individual discussions will
offer ideas and practical advice. The book is available at most book sellers
and the OC library system has a few as well.
