John BartramConference Keynote:
John Bartram, Selling Plants Globally
John Bartram was one of the juggernauts of horticulture during US colonial times. John Bartram will be recreated in character on Thursday, October 11th at Longwood Gardens by Kirk Brown to shed light on what the business was like back in the days of yore. As he says, "We need to remember and know that Horticulture (with a capitol "H") provides us with nourishment for body and soul.  Horticulture promises the future.  Horticulture confirms our place in the natural order.  Horticulture is our future."

Kirk Brown is a horticulturist, world-recognized botanist, key note speaker, business lecturer and dramatist appearing across the United States and Canada. Join us at the IPPS - Eastern Region Conference for this engaging presentation. CLICK HERE for program details.

BMSB Stink Bug

The brown marmorated stink bug is a voracious eater that damages ornamental and other crops in North America.  BMSB has been found in 38 states, causing the greatest crop damage in the Mid-Atlantic region. With funding from USDA's Specialty Crop Research Initiative, a team of more than 50 researchers is uncovering the pest's secrets to find management solutions for growers.  CLICK HERE  for stink bug basics, maps, and how you can help in tracking.
