Cincinnati Zoo
Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden
Come to the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden for two days of timely talks, terrific tours and the chance to socialize with fellow plant lovers.  Folks who stay over Friday night can schedule a guided tour through Boone County Arboretum on Saturday morning.   

 PROGRAM OF EVENTS    

 

Thursday, July 26

Start the day with a tour of Rowe Arboretum - on your own or via a guided tour to start at 9:30a.m.  At 11:00, the group will drive to the Cincinnati Zoo & Botanical Garden, stopping for lunch on your own along the way, for an afternoon of talks including: 

  • Marketing to Cities, Parks & Nonprofits by Liz Jacobs
  • Back to the Future by Bill Hendricks
  • Cool New Plants by Paul Cappiello
  • Trends in Plants by David Listerman  

The session will end with a panel discussion on How to Market the New & Unusual . Those wishing to stay will have dinner on their own and the chance to tour some private gardens that evening.  

 

Friday, July 27

The program Friday will start bright & early at the Zoo with two talks. Steve Foltz will address Tracking Ornamental Plants (How Do We Know What Works?).  Scott Beuerlein, also of CZBG, will give a talk on The Great Plants of Cincinnati.  You will have two hours to tour the zoo then will head to Spring Grove Cemetery  for lunch followed by walking and tram tours of this 733 acre nonprofit garden cemetery and arboretum.  Next stops are Friendship and Smale Parks, City of Cincinnati Parks. Those who wish will enjoy dinner at The Banks Restaurant downtown.
