Cutting Back Stock Plants Promotes
Adventitious Rooting
Poor adventitious rooting continues to limit asexual propagation
of many woody plant species thus slowing selection and introduction of superior genotypes. Results from these experiments demonstrate the importance of propagule origin on successful adventitious rooting in layered stems and softwood cuttings.
Click here to learn how rooting potential was affected by severity of cutting back the stock plant, by etiolation and by layering.
