Drugs, Alcohol and Teenagers
Tuesday, January 11
7:00 p.m.
The Collin County Substance Abuse Coalition (CCSAP) and the Jasper PTSA will be hosting a panel of experts to discuss your concerns about drugs, alcohol and the impact on teenagers. CCSAP's goal is to stop alcohol and drug use before it begins. They speak to kids in the classroom and to parents in the community about the dangers of addiction through a coalition of concerned community leaders.
The panel will consist of Detective Jonathan Hay of the Plano Police Department, Rick Hooker and Carrie Stevens from PISD Social Services/Drug and Alcohol Education and Sabina Stern, past director of the Collin County Substance Abuse Program. Together they will address your issues including the following topics:
- What drugs could your teen be exposed to?
- What are the laws and consequences of teenage alcohol and drug abuse and underage hosting?
- What do parents need to know to arm their child against peer pressure?
- What are the signs of substance abuse?
- What do you do if you suspect substance abuse?
The forum will be held at Jasper High School on Tuesday, January 11, 2011 at 7:00 P.M.
