Greetings!

Hopefully the first week of school has been a great one for you and your student.  If you have not had an opportunity to meet our new principals and the administrative team, I encourage you to attend the PTSA program on August 31 at noon.  Jasper Prinicipal, Courtney Gober, will be introducing the assistant principal and counselors.

By now many of you have heard about the new cell phone policy at Jasper!  The students are excited to have an opportunity to use their cell phones during the school day.  Mr. Gober will be presenting a program on how technology is being used in the classrooms at Jasper.  This will be an exciting program introducing parents to new ways our children are learning.

The PTSA is providing parents an opportunity to order a lunch for the program--see the link found in the program notes in this newsletter.  The program will start at Noon and end by 1:00 p.m.  We look forward to seeing you there.

Sincerely,
Amy Newell

21st Century Learners
Noon - Tuesday, August 31
Jasper High School Presentation Room
Presented by Jasper HS Principal, Courtney Gober

Today's learner is 'plugged in.' Some reports state that the American child spends about six hours/day using electronic devices. Although today's students understand how to access and utilize digital tools, many of them are used for entertainment purposes only. Our challenge is to integrate the same devices that students love to use into our classrooms for academic purposes.

You may pre-purchase a Jason's Deli box lunch for $5 by clicking on the following link: Jason's Deli Order. Drinks will be provided by the PTSA. Box lunch orders must be received no later than 10:00 am on August 30.  Payment will be collected at the lunch on Tuesday.
