Jasper High School Band Performs at AT&T Plaza
The AT&T
Plaza at the American Airlines Center was abuzz with over 240 Jasper band
members, color guard, and cheerleaders as they prepared for their pre-game show
before the Dallas Stars game against the Caroline Hurricanes on Monday,
November 23rd.
The band and color guard performed their 2009 music performance from Queen while the cheerleaders showcased a new routine for the event. The 20 minute performance was enjoyed by all, including WFAA anchors who had just wrapped up their newscast.
Pep rallies
before the Dallas Stars Hockey games are a new addition to pre-game activities in the
AT&T Plaza this year. Earlier
this season, bands from the University of North Texas and the Rockwall Senior
High School have performed.
However, Jasper is the youngest band to ever perform in the Plaza. The crowd was so receptive that the
Stars organization has already invited the band back for a performance next season.
After the
performance, the entire entourage including parents, friends, and many
additional Jasper families numbering over 500, attended the hockey game and
cheered the Stars on to a victory.
