Jasper High School PTSA Newsletter
Volume 1, Issue 1
August/2009
driving Greetings!

Welcome to the first installment of the Jasper PTSA Newsletter!   We have switched from the traditional printed newsletter to an environmentally friendly electronic newsletter.  We also hope that this will help us improve communications with our parents.

What else is new at Jasper this year:
  • PTSA web sitewww.jasperptsa.org
  • The PTSA plans to purchase an electronic marquee for the front of the school to help give parents more information on what is happening on campus.
  • New programs for parents and students.
  • College Night is new and offers something for every family at Jasper.
  • Student Dance - The PTSA is helping to organize a Student Dance and Social on February 13.  All of our Booster Organizations and Clubs are encouraged to participate.
It is going to be a fantastic year and we are off to a great start.  Thank you to all of our parents and students who joined the PTSA and for the generous donations.  Because of your generosity, we will be able to fund many teacher wish list items this year.

Sincerely,
Amy Newell
Jasper PTSA President

With the new law effective today, prohibiting drivers 18 and under from using a cell phone or texting while driving, this PSA is relevant. WARNING: THIS VIDEO IS GRAPHIC AND SHOCKING.  PARENTS: Watch this by yourself first then WITH your kids. Explain to them that if they HAVE TO phone or text, pull over and stop in a SAFE location first, THEN use the phone.
