Rejoice
Christian Schools hosted a dinner and silent auction on Thursday, March 4, 2010
at the RCS North Campus to kick off the Second Annual RCS Golf & Walk
Classic. The evening included a short presentation about the upcoming RCS Golf
and Walk Classic to be held on Thursday, April 22, 2010.
Rejoice
families, as well as community leaders, enjoyed the evening as they came
together to support Rejoice Christian Schools. Hillsdale College Professor of
Letters, Mr. Denny Kuhn, delivered a message to a crowd of more than 200 about
the value of Christian education. Rejoice
drama students performed a preview of an upcoming production in full costume
and the RCS Elementary Select Choir performed for guests as they dined. The
evening ended with the conclusion of the silent auction which raised more than
$5,000 for RCS.
The Gala is only the beginning of a much larger event. RCS will host its Second Annual Golf &
Walk Classic on April 22, 2010 at the Bailey Ranch Golf Club in Owasso. The Golf & Walk event is the schools'
largest fundraiser and through annual support, Rejoice will continue its
mission of partnering with parents in training children in Bible-based
Christian principles and in the establishment of a high quality academic
foundation.
Last year, Rejoice families, friends, churches, and area business owners partnered
with RCS to raise $55,000 during the Golf & Walk Classic. In appreciation,
golfers received a continental breakfast, lunch, golf shirt, prizes and the
opportunity to win $1,000,000 in a hole-in-one contest.
Parents, students, teachers and staff at Rejoice participated
in the Golf & Walk Classic on both campuses. The walk included obstacle courses, games,
and a dunk tank. The teachers said it
was the best day of the school year and the students wanted to do it all over
the next day - especially the ice cream truck!
RCS seeks continued
participation from the community to continue the advancement of Rejoice
Christian Schools. Established in 1992, RCS has provided high quality Christian
education to students in the Owasso area for more than seventeen years. Rejoice
now leads the way in Christian education ranking in the top 10% academically of all private and public
schools in the nation and posting one of the highest senior class ACT averages
in the state.
