Being an orphan brings its own challenges. Now imagine you are an orphan in Bangladesh, one of the world's poorest countries. You have no job skills and no support network. After traveling to Bangladesh with her church, Sandra realized she could use her professional experience and talents to train orphans in the beauty industry, so she co-founded Friends of the World Charitable Trust to provide young adult orphans in developing countries with the vocational training they need to become economically self-sufficient.
The Trust's current project is a beauty academy in Khulna, Bangladesh, to teach hair care, skin care and business management. The beauty industry is growing in developing countries - there are jobs but few trained professionals. Once trained, the orphans will be uniquely positioned to work in this growing part of the economy.
You can help make this happen! The Trust needs to raise $60,000 for this project. Please attend our fundraiser and enjoy an evening of sharing, food, silent auction and raffle, a visit from Mayor Thomas P. Koch, benefit jewelry, and more.
Some of the exciting Raffle and Silent Auction prizes we already have include
4 Red Sox Tickets, a Louis Vuitton Wallet, a Fine Wine Basket, a Taste of India Basket, Babycakes Gift Certificates, and more!
