Greetings!
We are well into the holiday season and today, December 13th, is my birthday - a fitting time to send out a newsletter! Thanks to many of you, this past year has brought me rich experiences to learn from and reflect upon, as well as introductions to fascinating new modalities of healing to complement my life and practice.
In 1810, the founder of homeopathy Dr. Samuel Hahnemann, published the Organon of Medical Art and described the energetic healing system within each of us which he called the Vital Force - that part of ourselves continually responding to the constant daily challenges, working to restore us to a healthy, harmonious balance, so we have the energy and freedom to pursue our dreams and higher purposes in life.
We have been taught not to trust in our natural healing abilities and instead look to outside "experts" to determine what is wrong with us and blindly submit to whatever procedures or medications they deem appropriate. However true healing often requires us to turn within and look for our own clues in the healing process. We cannot intellectually bully our way through physical illness into cure - while the way we heal may seem mysterious and often elusive, tuning into our inner guidance may open us to different sources of curative stimuli. Becoming acquainted and working with my own intuitive guidance system has been instrumental in moving through years of serious chronic illness to the dynamic well-being and freedom today, at 53, I so appreciate!
No matter our age, this life process is never finished; every experience or challenge offers a new lesson to learn and grow through, including the eventual transition out of this physical life. Each of us is living a unique path of potential to bring forward. What are your dreams and visions and how well are you able to manifest your higher purposes?
As you reflect back on this year, notice what has felt good to you, what you have enjoyed and been nourished by. If you are having difficulty expressing the "higher purposes" of your existence, look for those things that feel fulfilling to you, that bring a sense of joy or clarity - and follow them! Your path is uniquely yours - honor your life, honor your innate healing ability and when needed, find the practitioners and modalities that can best support you in experiencing a full and rewarding life.
For me, homeopathy continues to be a primary choice of medicine, as it is a system of healing which can stimulate the Vital Force to resolve issues on the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual planes. However finding a curative remedy can be elusive and even when it is found, is but one factor of the process. As homeopath and author Rosina Sonnenschmidt writes, "The way that body and spirit heal together completely overshadows all the remedies and procedures that we in the healing professions have ever found." A receptive attitude finds benefit from multiple sources, including any therapy, modality or person we resonate with. While I remain primarily a homeopath in practice, it is exciting to incorporate other modalities for myself and clients that gently support the healing process.
