A study was performed at the Institute for Cellular and Molecular Biology at the University of Texas to assess the effectiveness of anti-viral drugs (such as are prescribed for influenza) and published in the January 2010 issue of the Journal "Genetics."  The results of the study were alarming, however, because 2 different results were seen.  In some cases viral death did take place as expected - however in other cases, the drug's action didn't kill the virus but instead directly caused the virus to mutate into something stronger and more resistant.  Due to their genetic structure, viruses can mutate into infinite combinations of DNA and medicine is always several steps behind in creating drugs to address newly emerged (and potentially lethal) strains.  More to the point, the study suggests the very use of these anti-viral drugs will lead to faster mutation and a greater likelihood of a "super virus" emerging, resistant to any current pharmaceutical drug.  http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2010/01/100113172306.htm
 
At the same time the results of this scientific study were published, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE, representing 47 European nations) unanimously passed a resolution calling for an investigation into the pharmaceutical companies' influence on WHO's H1N1 pandemic declaration.  The text of the resolution says among other things, "In order to promote their patented drugs and vaccines against flu, pharmaceutical companies influenced scientists and official agencies, responsible for public health standards to alarm governments worldwideand make them squander tight health resources for inefficient vaccine strategies and needlessly expose millions of healthy people to the risk of an unknown amount of side-effects of insufficiently tested vaccines."http://www.globalresearch.ca/index.php?context=va&aid=16667
 
What is a conscientious, ordinary person concerned about the health of themselves and their family to do in the face of the different demands, assertions, pressures and opinions constantly being forced at every turn?  Reality is that frequently drugs and modern medicine can harm rather than help, and that medical/scientific/pharmaceutical attempts to fool Mother Nature become a game focused on something entirely different than just returning you from sickness back to health. 
 
We live in a society where healthcare has become a multi-billion dollar industry that plays a heavy role in funding our governments.  While trying to make sense of the different opinions isn't easy, finding your own answers will ultimately will benefit your life and that of your family.  Do your own research, question your own beliefs and those of others around you, and listen to your inner feelings.  Seek out the council of health care professionals you trust, but remain alert to hidden agendas.  Before undergoing any medical procedure or ingesting any medical drug, do your own research and consciously weigh the potential benefits versus the potential drawbacks before submitting yourself.  In some cases, the risk may not be worth the reward.   Remember that the original creed of medicine was and should still be to above all, do no harm.
