Dear Friends of FarmPlate,

I've had a fantastic and fantastically busy last few weeks. Here's the
update . . .

We're well on our way to launching FarmPlate 2.0--a robust, searchable and interactive community site for food producers, restaurants, markets, schools, organizations and other supporters and advocates of sustainable foods. We are currently refining the profile pages (actually mini websites) that every FarmPlate community member, including consumers, will have the option to build.

I've been traveling the state meeting with our Cultivator test group and reviewing the profiles with them. (I love my days on the road--last week Dana Matthews of Caledonia Spirits gave me a full tour of their new distillery in Hardwick, and I got to sample the award-winning panchilada created by Harwood Union's Junior Iron Chef team at their monthly Localvore Lunch.) The feedback and insights I have gathered on my visits have been invaluable, and I cannot thank all of our Cultivators enough for their willingness to so openly share their knowledge, hands-on experiences and needs.

As we work away behind the scenes, we continue to blog and tweet about sustainable farmers and food producers, restaurants and markets that value regional, artisanal products, relevant news, delicious recipes, the scoop on our Cultivators and other food- and farm-related happenings within and beyond Vermont's borders. We encourage you to pass along related stories and events so we can spread your news!
