Dear Friends of FarmPlate,

We've had a great start to the New Year and are excited to announce that Geoffrey Berger has joined FarmPlate as CEO. Geoff brings tremendous leadership experience and comes to us after a year-long engagement with Shasta Farm, LLC, overseeing operations and the strategic advancement of this California-based sustainable food enterprise. We're looking forward to Geoff's continued contributions and careful refinement of the FarmPlate concept as we advance toward version 2 of the website--a robust community of sustainable food producers, buyers and consumers.

If you haven't yet, check out our new YouTube gallery. We've assembled lots of great food and farming videos, and you'll get a peek into the world of many of our Vermont-based Cultivators. We'd love your suggestions for other videos you'd like to see on our channel, so send them along.

It's time to take the chill off with a quick-to-assemble comfort meal from the FarmPlate kitchen featuring ingredients that are local and seasonal to even our northern New England clime. No flavor sacrifices here, just simple combinations of vitamin-rich, flavor-packed foods.

Speaking of comfort dinners, if you'd prefer that someone else do the cooking, see what Simon Pearce has on the menu for a special wine dinner on February 4. (Check back with us on Friday too to read more about Simon Pearce in The FarmPlate Blog.) There's no need to wait for that date--you're in the capable hands of Chef Josh Duda almost every night of the week at this spectacular restaurant/glass-blowing facility. If you do go, be sure to request one of the tables cantilevered over the falls.

In my opinion, however, the best seat in the house is always at your own table surrounded by family and friends.
