 Come join me this summer for a fun sewing day camp at Sylvia's Quilt Depot. Our 1 and 2 day day-camps are a fun and exciting way to gain skills and expand your knowledge of sewing. Students will need to have basic sewing skills or attend the basic sewing skill class if it's been a while since they sewen or do not have the basic skills needed.

 WHY LEARN TO SEW?Sewing your own clothing can be an exciting, fulfilling hobby, not to mention a lifelong skill that will be useful for many projects.
IMAGINE!!!!Instead of hours of hunting through clothing racks, you can make your own pants, shirts, skirts, dresses - whatever you want - using the styles, colors, and fabrics that suit you best. You can express your own creativity by adding decorations and personal touches to your work. When your friends ask you where you get your fabulous outfits, you can say you make them yourself!
ASC Sewing School uses the the KWIK START® patterns to teach you to sew. With practice in time you will be sewing like a pro.
WHY KWIK START®?
Many people would like to learn to sew, but are intimidated by complicated patterns and instructions that seem to require an interpreter in order to understand them. To successfully learn to sew, it is important to start with quick, simple projects that allow you to practice basic sewing skills without becoming frustrated.
KWIK START® patterns are specially designed for beginning sewers, including children. The step-by-step instructions are clear and easy to follow, with illustrations to help you along. The patterns are straightforward. There are no complicated stitches or cuts to make. And the KWIK Start patterns do not take weeks or even days to sew.In a few, frustration-free hours, you can create a simple yet stylish outfit that everyone will admire and I will be there with you every step of the way.
Kids Learn To Sew Summer Basics Class
Students will have fun learning the basic sewing skills they need to sew projects in the Summer Sewing Camps, or refresh their skills if it's been a while since they have sewn. They will learn how to operate a sewing machine, as well as basic sewing skills needed to make sewing fun. We will sew a fun summer tote bag and depending on time other projects may be sewn.
Students will need a basic zigzag style sewing machine in good working condition or if one is not available the instructor has a few machines available for a fee of $10.00,
Class cost is $70.00 which includes basic supplies to sew projects.
This two day classes and will be held at ASC School of Sewing, by appointment , 12:00 to 4:00pm.
Drinks and Snacks will be provided but children should have lunch before they come to class.
Home Schooling Parents can get reimbursed for classes this summer as follows:
Classes for May/June must be turned in on a reimbursement form by the end of May, 1st. (We do not have to have the receipt of payment yet, but the form must be turned in or a reimbursement will not be made). When the payment is made, the parent can bring the receipt to us and we will then process the reimbursement payment (all receipts must be turned in to us by the end of June 10)
Classes beginning July 1 will be reimbursed out of next years allotments. All enrollment paperwork and ILP's must be completed before reimbursements will be processed. | |

Pillows,Curtians, other Room Accessories
Deigned for woven and firm knit fabrics.
Suggested Fabrics: Cotton, cotton types, denim, wool, flannel, faux fur, fleece, jersey
Pillows and pillowcase are designed for the first time sewer, are very easy to make. Square, round and triangular shaped pillows in three sizes are stuffed with fiberfill. Pillow with panels has contrast fabric center. Pillowcase fits a standard 20"x 26" (51 cmx 65 cm) pillow. Pattern includes patterns and instructions for a pocket and heart, flower and letter appliqués.

Unisex Children Sleep Pants & Shorts
Boys' & Girls' sleep pants and shorts have elastic in casing at waist. Pants and shorts are very easy to make and have special easy to follow sewing instructions.

Teen's Summer Shirt/top/dress Swimsuit Cover up it has a tie in casing at neckline, which gathers front and back, and ties at one shoulder, or bow can be eliminated. Armholes and neckline are finished with facing.

Pull-over dresses have empire waist with elastic in casing. View A has raglan sleeves, round neckline gathered with elastic, short sleeves with elastic, and ruffle at bottom edge. View B has lapped front, narrow shoulder straps, and contrast fabric extension at bottom edge.

All class registration fees must be paid at the time of registration for classes. The cost of each class is $30.00 plus materials. Students are required to provide all of there own materials prior to the first day of class.
