Summer Fragrance and Magnificent Color
Take advantage of the next several months to have the garden that is truly unique and beautiful. We are fortunate to be in an area of the country where we can grow a wide variety of plants from regions all over the world.
Chocolate. Almost everybody loves chocolate! One of our favorites is  Chocolate Cosmos. Its hardy to 10 degrees, has deep maroon flowers with a rich cocoa fragrance. Another favorite, Chocolate Flower, beriandiera lyrata, is a perennial wildflower originating from the southwest. It fills the garden with a rich chocolate aroma during the morning hours.
Mint. Along with many our fine herbal mint plants, consider Agastache foeniculm, sp. Golden Jubilee. A hardy perennial with golden foliage and mint scented leaves that attract honey bees...and makes a great tea!
Blue. Looking for blue? Try Russian Sage, Perovskia atriplicifolia. A great perennial that blooms with gorgeous lavender blue flowers and lasts well into  September. And for a marvelous true blue, look for Salpiglosses "blue". Painted Tongue. Great for borders and mixed plantings.
The lilies. Oriental lilies come back year after with lofty blooms and  wonderful fragrance. If you replanted them, last years 'Easter Lilies" are making their reappearance now along side another favorite, the stargazer lily. Hardy in our area, lilies are a must for every garden. We have a great selection for you to choose from.
Tropical. Truly some of our favorite tropical plants are the Cestrums.  Cestrum Nocturnem, the night blooming Jess amine, with its intoxicating fragrance along with its graceful cousin Cestrum Smithii are both elegant and irresistible for your container or patio garden. Another must have is the huge flowered brugmansia. In white, pink, red, peach, singles and doubles, plant several to make your space into a true tropical garden. Easy to care for and very stately, you will love them as much as we do.These are but a few of the many fragrant, colorful, butterfly attracting plants in the nursery. Ask the staff for their favorites and what is new from the greenhouses. Everyday is a new day at Minters!

Cascade Cactus & Succulent Society On Sunday
We are excited to have local gardening guru and artist, Sondra Shira with us  for an informative afternoon on Sunday July 29th from 11AM until 3 PM. Sondra is a member of Cascade Cactus and Succulent Society and has promised to bring some unique and interesting examples for display. Joining her will be cactus grower, Keith Kaufman, with an excellent selection of his great locally grown Cactus and Agave. Sondra  will be also be displaying examples of her latest creations, Phoenix Poles, handcrafted sculptures made from recycled metal parts that add unique accents to your gardens or patio. Join us for a great afternoon on July 29th!
