Fathers Day

Did you know that the first state to officially declare Fathers Day was Washington State? Living in Spokane, Sonora Smart Dodd and siblings were raised by their widowed father. To honor him she approached churches, business owners and government officials to honor all fathers. She succeeded in her quest and on July 19th, 1910, Washington became the first state to celebrate "Fathers Day".  Happy Fathers Day,  Dad!
