Geraniums
Geraniums are an interesting lot, some might say. Are they Pelargoniums

that are sometimes called storksbills? Or are they true hardy geraniums that are at times called cranesbills? Over the years the classifications have led to some confusion, so let's clear the air, and sort things out. For starters, both the genus pelargonium, and the genus geranium are in the

family called geraniaceae. Pelargoniums are the "geraniums" we most often see in annual sections of the nursery, while the "true geraniums" are found with the hardy perennials and likely survive in your garden year after year after year.

such as zonal, scented, fancy leaf, seed and regal. Originally from Mediterranean climates, pelargonium geraniums have been bred and cultivated for over 500 years creating many spectacular varieties to choose from.
From our greenhouses comes a huge array of fabulous geraniums. The sturdy and forgiving zonal geraniums are great for containers and for stunning, large plantings. The bold and stately elegant Regals are best suited for your deck containers, where they truly do live

up to their name. Seed geraniums, one of the few types that are grown from seed today, are beautiful, especially in mass plantings and are generally care-free and self cleaning. And we love our large selection of fancy leaf geraniums, one of the finest collections in the Northwest. They are great for mixed baskets, containers or simply showcased by themselves. The spectacular foliage sets them apart from their cousins.
Use Scented geraniums to bring fragrances like citronella, apricot, rose, ginger, nutmeg, apple and peppermint into your garden space. They are great for window sills, containers and along garden paths.
Whether you choose geraniums for their rich colors, unique shapes or fine fragrance, they are a delight and an essential part of the summer garden.
