FANTASTIC FALL COLORS
THROUGHOUT THE NURSERY It's a cornucopia of home grown colors at the nursery. Mums and Asters, pumpkins and gourds, and squash and corn stalks, bales of straw, blooming cyclamen, ornamental cabbage and kale. Come experience the great fall colors that will help nudge us into a new season! Bring your kids and bring your camera, sip on some coffee or tea and enjoy the scents and visual treats that fall can bring into your garden.
Have you ever wondered what brings us the fantastic fall leaf colors this time of the year? Just when the clouds are bringing us the gray skies and the sun is low on the horizon? Almost like magic, the leaves start
to reveal their true selves! In summer months the process of photosynthesis, in cahoots with a chemical called chlorophyll, help create the green color in leaves. As the weather cools, photosynthesis slows and the green chlorophyll gradually fades away, leaving behind the yellows and bright reds that have been hiding there all along. All this, just to brighten our day!
