On Thursday, February 18, join the YWCA and more than 400 of Charleston's business leaders for an uplifting awards luncheon to hear the inspiring stories of this year's prestigious honorees:

  • Deb Copeland motivates the citizens of Charleston and the nation through her speaking engagements and books, while being a successful entrepreneur and philanthropist.
  • Nina Denton Pasinettihas nurtured the local creative arts community through her dedication to the Charleston Light Opera Guild, the Clay Center, and FestivAll, and has instilled an attitude of discipline to her students that have allowed them to achieve remarkable success.
  • Kay Goodwin has influenced West Virginia education and the arts through an extensive public service background, and she currently serves as the West Virginia Cabinet Secretary for the Department of Education and the Arts.
  • Star Hogan, our fifth annual BrickStreet Empowerment Award winner, survived a 13 year abusive relationship and overcame her obstacles by obtaining a quality education, resulting in a Master's degree, and creating a successful career in financial and leadership services. The BrickStreet Empowerment Award is given to a woman who has overcome great obstacles on her journey to success with the help of a YWCA program.
