Bulb Drive extended
Good news! PSE's CFL Bulb Recycling Drive will continue in 2011. You can help your community keep 50,000 bulbs out of landfills by ordering a FREE recycling box for your workplace.
Sammamish Plateau Water and Sewer District has had such success with theirs, they've had to request additional boxes:
"We had a tremendous response, and our collection box filled up in under two weeks! People are still bringing CFL bulbs in. Our customers are very green so they appreciate having this opportunity available."
More than 500 recycle boxes have been requested by small and large businesses, city halls and other Western Washington locations to make recycling CFL bulbs more convenient.
So far 14,250 bulbs have been returned, which means all their reusable glass, circuitry, aluminum and plastic can be used to make new products.
Need new CFL bulbs or lighting fixtures? You can get PSE instant rebates on both at local retailers.

Pumping up the savings is Re-Energizing
If your electric water heater has been around for 12 years or more, it's probably costing you more than you think every time you turn that
tap to "H."
An ENERGY STARŪ heat pump water heater is twice as efficient as a standard model and can save you up to $200 a year in electricity costs. PSE offers a $250 rebate on an efficient heat pump water heater.

Using generators to avoid power outages
Homeowner demand for permanently installed generators continues to grow, and financing is available to help cover the costs to purchase and install them. Since a back-up generator will automatically turn on to ensure seamless delivery of electricity, they are most often used for:
- Rural homes
- Home-based businesses
- Health and medical needs
- Safety/outdoor lighting issues
- Telecommuting needs
- Reliability when traveling (so you don't come home to spoiled food, flashing clocks, and security or pump system failures)
Most generators are fueled by natural gas and automatically turn off when utility electric service is restored. If you are interested in learning more about what type of generator to get, financing options and how to safely and properly install back up generators, give us a call. PSE has experienced personnel to help answer questions and provide guidance to get you started.
Contact a PSE Energy Advisor at 1-800-562-1482 Monday through Friday,
8 a.m. to 5 p.m., or visit PSE.com/ForYourHome for more information.
