Re-Energize your workplace this Earth Day by signing your office up for PSE's Bulb Drive. PSE is recruiting local businesses with 20 or more employees to host a free collection box for spent compact fluorescent light (CFL) bulbs. Employees can bring in their spent bulbs, even collect them from their friends and neighbors, and together we can keep 50,000 CFL bulbs out of landfills!

To participate, your company must host a collection box at an office location in PSE's electric service area and designate a point person to set up the collection box and follow-up with PSE on the company's progress.

For more information or to sign up, visit PSE.com/BulbDrive.

CFL bulbs contain a very small amount of mercury, so do not put used CFLs in the household garbage or recycling bins. While the amount of mercury in a single bulb is extremely small, it will harm the environment if large numbers of bulbs are disposed of in landfills. Select PSE offices, participating retail locations and county household hazardous waste facilities recycle CFL bulbs for free. Visit PSE.com/CFLRecycle for a complete list of CFL recycling locations near you.

Think the worst thing your old clothes washer could do is turn your favorite white T-shirt pink? Think again. Your old machine could be wasting energy and water with every load - making the environment and your wallet very, very sad. PSE electric customers can now get as much as $200 off the purchase of energy-efficient clothes washers by combining a PSE rebate with new state incentive from Washington State Cash for Appliances, brought to you by the U.S. Department of Energy and the Washington State Department of Commerce.

Washington State Cash for Appliances offers a $100 rebate when you replace your resource-wasting clothes washer with a high-efficiency model purchased after March 15, 2010. Offer available until Dec. 1, 2011 or until funds run out. Learn more at CashForAppliancesWA.com.

PSE residential electric customers can qualify for one of three levels of utility rebates ($50, $75, $100) for premium-efficiency clothes washers that meet the energy- and water-efficiency standards of the WashWise program, a regional partnership of participating electric and water utilities. genHave you considered an emergency generator for your home? Financing is available and PSE can assist you
Image of a generator

There is growing demand by home owners for permanently installed generators. Generators automatically turn on to ensure seamless delivery of electricity, and are typically fueled by natural gas, or even propane in some cases such as rural areas.

Plan on installation of a generator now and avoid future storm season interruptions to your electricity delivery. Automatic start generators turn on within 15 seconds of an electrical outage and safely provide electricity to your home. When electricity is available again, the generator will automatically shut down.
Once installed a new generator will provide piece of mind for years to come. PSE can also refer you to financing sources for your generator based on current loan qualifications.

PSE has experienced personnel to assist you with selecting a generator and an informative brochure to help you plan your project. The planning and installation of a quality generator along with proper natural gas service is very important. PSE provides information to assist with the selection, sizing and any required changes to the natural gas service to accommodate a new generator. PSE's aim is to assure the installation and operation of your generator is safe for everyone.

PSE also provides referrals to experienced generator contractors who can provide a turn key level of service. With one call, you can be assured that the job will be completed correctly and to quality standards. If you purchase your own generator and equipment, we can still assist you in finding a contractor to do the install of your equipment.

Contact a PSE Energy Advisor at 1-800-562-1482, Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to  5 p.m., for assistance with generator questions or click here to download a brochure.
