PHOTOGRAPHY AND DIGITAL DOCUMENTARY
BY STEPHANIE C. ROBERTS

Greetings!

I hope this email finds you well, my friend. And I hope you are pushing yourself into new spaces.

Stephanie Roberts, Tanzania
Image from somewhere in Tanzania.

Fall brings to mind the beauty of change and the importance of gratitude. Having recently returned from Arusha, Tanzania, our second Picture Hope photography and story-catching assignment, I'm so thankful to have the opportunity to share these experiences with you and look forward to expanding our Picture Hope assignment in 2010.

I'm also thankful to so many of you who have supported me with your business, fair content contributions, and encouragement this year.

Let me know how I can help you uncover and share your stories.

Warm regards,
Stephanie Roberts

Branding a Downtown Destination

Downtown MonroeIf you're looking for southern hospitality and small town charm, you'll find it Downtown Monroe. The Downtown Development Authority representing locally-owned businesses called on LittlePurpleCow Productions for photography and production of a 30-second commercial to help attract visitors to shop, dine, unwind, and discover Downtown Monroe.

Images and Stories of Hope in Tanzania

Shepherds Junior School Shepherds Jr. School in Arusha began as a seed of hope in the heart of Mama Lucy Kamptoni. Using what few resources she had - some chicken-and-egg money, the land beneath her home, and a strong dose of faith - she grew that seed of hope to house 350 young students. Thanks to our partner Epic Change, we had the opportunity to document and share this story.

Planting a Seed and Gathering a Tribe

BEST Visit, ArushaWhile in Tanzania, Jen and I spent time with Arusha-based non-profit BEST (Business and Entrepreneurship Support Tanzania) and a few of their clients, "the poorest of the poor." Since that visit, we have begun to process ways in which we can expand Picture Hope's mission. For now, we are gathering people like you to build a tribe of support. If you are inspired by the stories and want to consider getting involved as Picture Hope grows, let me know: littlepurplecow@gmail.com
Patient Stories for Walton Regional Medical Center

WRMC Patient LittlePurpleCow Productions continues to support Walton Regional Medical Center and recently created a collection of documentary-style images of patients and caregivers. The photographs lend visual support to patient stories featured in the quarterly newsletter of this growing hospital. An extended image license allows them to use the images in many ways in print and online.

Picture Hope Dinner & Fundraising Event: Huge Success

Odette CookingOn October 4, Jen Lemen & Stephanie Roberts led the first Picture Hope Event. Hosted by Nancy & Denton Smith and Suzanne & Roy Roberts at Villa Serena, 150 attendees raised more than $4,000 for the Picture Hope Fair Content Fund. Shown here is Rwanda native Odette Umurerwa preparing 450 mandazi (African donuts) for the guests, who listened with rapt attention to her story of hope.
