Community Update, March 20

From Veronica Morava: 19Mar: Hello I wanted to give the church an update on our visit to the Capital today. We visited with Rep.Tibbs today who is the House author of SB539. (She also openly shared her faith in God). She expressed her support of the added language regarding a Victim's right to a Speedy Trial. She also invited us to come back in two weeks on Wednesday, April 1 to speak at the House Committee Meeting. At this meeting they will vote to add the additional language and prayerful Title the Bill. We are asking for prayers for this meeting if it gets past on the 1st it will then go back to the Senate for a final vote then on to the Governor to be signed into a Law. After the visit today we left the Capital with high expectations for SB539 to become a Law! We know that God has purposed our every step and given us every word to speak! Thank you for your prayers! From Vickie Delaney: a Co-Worker of mine, has a 37 year old daughter-in-law, mother of her two grand-daughters, just diagnosed with Cervical Cancer. Please pray for total healing, and peace to all of the family involved. Thank you, so much. Vickie Delaney

Rebecca Barker: Update 19Mar: Rebecca received the results from the MRI. They didn't find anything which is good news. She has some medication for nerve pain. If it continues to bother her she will need to see a specialist.

Rebecca has gotten some relief from the pain. She should hear results from the MRI today. The hurting arm is the side where Rebecca had breast cancer.
Please pray for Rebecca as she has a pinched nerve in her right arm (painful!).

From Vickie Delaney: Update 18Mar: Candace Wheeler-Morris is a 24 yr old young lady, that I've known every since she was 4 yrs. old. She has a brain tumor that is inoperable at this time. Candace is having 3-6 seizures a day, and her heart rate is extremely high and her respirations are extremely low. She is in critical condition at OU Medical Center. Please pray for a miracle. Vickie

We have prayed for Vickie's friend, Candace. She has been taken to OU Medical Center with low blood count and she is not doing well. Vickie asked for prayer for Candace and her family.

Carolyn Jones: daughter of Juanita Weatherford...she had surgery recently to fix scar tissue in her throat from acid reflux. She needs prayer for recovery.

From Janice Stepp: Our daughter, Angi, is having adrenal gland problems. Please pray for her. She hasn't been able to work this week and is a single mom of a 5 year old and a 15 year old. Thanks, Janice

From Dana Bartel: Dana is asking for prayer for a difficult situation in their family. Jay's brother, James Gerald Hahn...44 years old, took his life this past weekend. Please pray for their family as they grieve and seek peace through the "whys". Please also pray for Dana as she helps and ministers to the family.

Debbie Gordon's Brother, Jim and his wife - their home is being foreclosed and going to a sheriff's auction. Please pray for them to keep their home and for the added strain on their marriage relationship. Please pray for God's wisdom, mercy and grace.

Briana Avila: 13Mar: She and 30 other kids and adults left this morning for New York. They are on a chartered bus and will arrive sometime tomorrow morning. They will be touring throughout New York through next Friday the 19th and then back on the road and home sometime the 20th. They are going to be ministering through music at several churches in the Bronx and Midtown areas, including a concert at Bronx High School. Jennifer Bozarth

From ilene Martzen: Update 17Feb: My brother, Ernie is doing a bit better but are still unresolved issues. He did go back to work which is good. Would appreciate continued prayers for a bit longer. ilene
My brother, Ernie, is suffering from severe depression. Yes, he has accepted Jesus as his Savior. He confided to a family member that he is planning to commit suicide. I ask that you pray Psalm 23, agree that he will be able to receive the mind of Jesus, and the peace and comfort of the Holy Ghost. ilene Martzen

From Pam Albright: Update 11Mar: Darci Update: Darci is coming home from Dallas today. Please continue to pray as she continues her recovery at home.
Mary Update: I just heard from Mary B and the PET scan results showed no change in the cancer. She was having another test today, cat scan I think, and waiting on radiology to see about the radiation treatment. She also has the double chemo today that takes three hours. She sounded okay but you could hear the disappointment in her voice. Please keep her in your prayers.
I have 2 co-workers that are getting ready to start treatment for cancer. Darci Beaver is 34 years old and is divorced with two sons ages 6 & 8. This is her second time through this, but she is going to have to go to Dallas for a least a month to have a stem cell transplant. She could possibly be off work for 3 - 6 months. She started chemo a few weeks ago and has tried to continue to work, but you can see it is very hard on her. Her ex-mother-in-law use to keep the boys, but she is suffering from some health issues, so the boys have had to return to daycare. Besides being hard on her body, this is going to be very hard on her financially.

Mary Bovino is older and a leukemia surviver. She found out the day after Christmas that she has lung cancer. She goes to the doctor today to find out when her treatments will begin. Some of the doctors did not give her long to live and others think it is treatable. She does not think she is going to die. She says she feels too good and doesn't think God is finished with her here. However, if it does worsen she says she is ready to go, because she has lost 3 of her 4 children and is ready to join them. We are hoping that Mary will be able to continue to work, because she does not have any disability and after missing so much work, she would lose her health care benefits.
Please pray for both of these ladies. They both said they could not go through this without God and the power of prayer. Thank you, Pam Albright
