Greetings!
Can you believe it's Fall already? I can't. As a summer baby, I'm still thinking I can walk around with a t-shirt on, and then *BAM!* I have a stomach virus. I was totally caught off-guard, since I rarely get colds or other bugs anymore. It was very disruptive and unpleasant, but I didn't have it as bad as some other people. I relied on my natural medicine cabinet instead, guided by my amazing Naturopathic Doctor, who's my personal go-to for everything medical. I'm feeling great now and am excited to share with you in this month's article, 7 Healing Herbs, the list of herbs that belong in your "medicine cabinet" this season to help you ward off or get over the flu or other bugs more quickly. (*DISCLAIMER: ALWAYS check with your doctor first about what is best for you!) Herbs are an amazing way to support your immune system and add healthy deliciousness to any meal. Speaking of deliciousness, I'm excited to share with you a favorite duo of Turkish recipes that is perfect for Fall - a bit of warmth, a bit of coolth (as Andy would say =) - for those Indian Summer days and to embrace that first hit of crisp Fall air. This divine Turkish Carrot-Lamb Rice Pilaf and Radish Gazpacho duo is from my grandmother's kitchen, and is best eaten together as they make the perfect pair. It's about comfort food, the interplay of opposite and complementary flavors and elements, and immune-protecting herbs all wrapped up into one. By the way - last month's Avocado Honey Cup turned out to be a total hit. I've heard from many of you that you can't get enough of it. I tell you - it's going to be the next food fad. Mark my words. ;)
I hope you enjoy your Byte. If you change your mind, you may unsubscribe at any time by scrolling to the very bottom of this page and clicking on the unsubscribe link. Until next time, be deliciously healthy!

I'm Published! (Kind of... =)
My fantastically inspirational friend Cami Walker just realized her lifelong dream of beco ming an author by publishing her first book, 29 Gifts: How a Month of Giving Can Change Your Life. I make an appearance in Chapter 20, as part of Gift # 20.
How cool is that?!
At age thirty-five, Cami was burdened by a battle with multiple sclerosis, a chronic neurological condition that made it difficult for her to walk, work, or enjoy her life. Seeking a remedy for her depression after being hospitalized, she received an uncommon prescription from an African medicine woman: Give to others for 29 days.
Since then, she has started a global giving movement through 29Gifts.org, which I invite you to explore as well.

Client Testimonial
"Working with Simla, I developed a diet to match my new workout routine, to allow me sufficient energy and to see the results of my exercise. I am less bloated and more toned as a result. People around me are adopting my new eating habits! Simla also helped me confirm which foods I am allergic to, and helped me modify my diet to feel better but still eat well. I have more consistent moods and feel like my 'system' is running cleaner. Simla is very knowledgeable, committed, supportive, and willing to investigate any health claims I had questions about. Thank you, Simla!"
