Greetings!
Welcome to the inaugural issue of my eZine, Delicious Byte!
I'm launching this eZine on my 35th birthday, feeling better than ever before! It's also the 3rd anniversary of my health crisis that turned my world upside down and ultimately led me to do what I do today. As a health, nutrition, and lifestyle coach, I work with busy professionals like you who want to increase your energy, tame your stress, and take back control of your health.
I also happen to have a soft spot for those of you who live with an autoimmune condition, because that's what my sudden health crisis was all about. As a "success story" who lives in full remission with my multiple autoimmune inconveniences (fibromyalgia, for one), I want to help bring you here too.
In the spirit of this launch, this month's feature article is about How to Take Charge of Your Health & Your Life. (Because, let's face it... if you don't have your health, you really don't have much of a life, now, do you?)
Each month, I will be sharing a recipe with you. For July, I'm sharing with you a delicious, easy, low-calorie, high-taste Jicama-Cucumber Salad with Citrus Dressing that will be a big hit at any summer BBQ. Enjoy! I hope you enjoy your Byte. If you change your mind, you may unsubscribe at any time by scrolling to the very bottom of this page and clicking on the unsubscribe link. Until next time, have a deliciously healthy day!

How to Take Charge of Your Health and Your Life by Simla Somturk Wickless, MBA, CHC, CNE
I initially entitled this article "The 5 Secrets to Taking Charge of Your Health and Your Life." The marketers told me to do it. But you know what? These aren't secrets. But they might as well be secrets, because TOO FEW OF US (probably including you, ) ARE TRULY HEALTHY!
Headaches, low energy, moodiness, gassiness, weight gain around your middle, achy joints... For most people, these are not the "inevitable" side effects of life and aging as you may presume. You can take simple steps to help alleviate these symptoms and others

Jicama & Cucumber Salad with Citrus Dressing
Unless you live in San Francisco, like Andy & I do, the arrival of summer is unmistakable (for us, summer = fog). The warm weather encourages a more leisurely pace, entices you to spend more time outdoors, and - if you're in tune with your body - will make you crave foods that are naturally refreshing and cooling.
That's why I came up with this recipe recently as I headed to a summer BBQ. Our theme was Mexican; our group was hot!
