Cache Advance Crew Spotlight: Eve

Eve
Eve, Greeter
We are often asked who is behind Cache Advance... the answer is an entire Crew!

We thought that we'd start doing Crew Spotlights in our newsletters, starting with Eve, our Official Greeter.

Eve is usually the first one to the door to greet customers here at the Cave, and can often be found accompanying Lisa to events around the country. She's even been to Groundspeak's Headquarters. Twice!

Eve is about 9 years old this year, and is a rescue from Spokanimal, a local pound here in Spokane, WA. She's a tri-color rough coat Border Collie.

She likes hiking and backpacking (carying her own packs), playing ball, working hard and of course geocaching!

Eve has learned the sounds many GPS units make, and will start looking around when those proximity alarms go off!

We have 2 shop cats at the Cave, and she is very good at herding them: yes, she can herd cats.

We hope you've had a chance to meet Eve; if not, she'd love to meet and greet you sometime soon!
Five Years & Still Going Strong!
Fifth Anniversary Celebration and Specials
Greetings!

Welcome to our 5th anniversary issue of our newsletter. In this issue you'll find a little bit about how Cache Advance was started, our latest contest winners and why the next few days are great for stocking up on geocaching supplies.
This issue is also a sneak peek at our new look, to be released soon on the website. Our new website look will be quite a bit like this newsletter -so you, our loyal reader, gets to see a version of it first!
Fifth Anniversary

October is our birthday month! In October 2010 we are celebrating the fifth year of business for Cache Advance. We launched Cache Advance as a way to help new cachers start playing the game and also to help fix geocaches which had fallen into dis-repair.

Five years later Cache Advance is a full-time resource for geocachers all over the globe.

We started out with Dr. B.'s Cache Repair Kit. We like to think of these kits as 'First Aid for Tupperware'. Dr. B.'s Newbie Kit soon followed. The Newbie Kit includes everything someone needs to get started in geocaching and continues to be one of our best sellers. Both of these products are named after the real-life Dr.B, Professor Emeritus, at Eastern Washington University.

Dr. B is also the father of Lisa B, President, CEO and founder of Cache Advance, Inc., also known as Lookout Lisa to cachers worldwide. Lisa turned her love for caching and cachers into a thriving business focused on providing the best geocaching gear and knowledge available.

Along with educating and shipping gear to cachers around the world, this year we're excited to be able to attend many Mega Events throughout the country because Cache Advance is now mobile!

Many of you may have seen us on the road this summer with our store on wheels. Our travel trailer is also known affectionately as "The Cache Caboose". It's been great to be able to attend Mega Events and meet new cachers and old friends wherever we travel. We especially enjoyed participating in Geo-Woodstock VIII as a Gold Sponsor, and we will see you in Pennsylvania next year.

We look forward to our sixth year holding more adventures and being even busier! We thank you for supporting us on the jouney.

See you out on the trail!

Flatouts
Geowoodstock XII

We had so much fun sponsoring and vending this year at Woodstock VIII in Carnation, WA that we didn't want it to end! So we asked you to share some of your memories with us in response to our GeoWoodstock Blog, and here's the cacher story we chose as our favorite and to win the contest!

The Flatouts tell us:

"To us it was an adventure of a lifetime. Our first Geowoodstock, our first trip to the Pacific Northwest, meeting Jeremy Irish, Bryan and bunch of others at Groundspeaks Lacky Lost and Found event as well as making new Geocaching friends...

As you can see to us (Flatouts) it's not about the number of caches you can do, It's about the Journey!...The icing on the cake was we had our kids and grandkids with us. Life just doesn't get any better than that.

BTW: We were glad to see Cache Advance at the events and probably spent more time there than any of the other booths"

Thanks Flatouts! Enjoy your treasure that we're sending to you!

Watch for more fun contests coming soon...
