2013 Township Budget --
County Raises Fees,
Costing Township $180,000
Delaware County has notified the Township that it will raise the fees it charges for dumping trash. As a result, this additional fee -- which the Township estimates will cost us $180,000 in 2013 -- will have to be passed along to all residents. The County has previously raised trash fees rather than increase County taxes, thereby forcing Haverford and other municipalities to raise our taxes. Click here to read the notice from Delaware County.
What You Can Do:
- Make sure that you recycle and that you take advantage of the yard waste pickups. These are the most important things you can do because every pound of recycling and yard waste that is not dumped at the County site saves every one of us money.

The meeting will include a presentation on the authority and responsibilities of federal, state, and local agencies with regard to the management of wildlife. Haverford Township Day A Success
Held yesterday, on Saturday, October 6th, 2012, the the 18th Annual Haverford Township Day was a big success. Thousands of residents turned out to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Haverford Township's incorporation in 1912.
In addition, the Township dedicated a clock at Brookline Boulevard and Darby Road in honor of the anniversary, and also buried a time capsule so that future generations might learn a little about life in 2012. The picture above shows the plaque in front of the clock.
Thanks to the team of volunteers who made Haverford Township Day 2012 a success, including Assistant Township Manager Tim Denny, his staff and all of the volunteers.
Below is a picture of Gladys Gettz of Havertown, the Grand Marshall of the Haverford Township Day Parade, who celebrated her 100th birthday. Ms. Gettz is surrounded by the Board of Commissioners and other Township officials.
