Grand Opening of the Community Recreation and Environmental Center at Haverford Reserve
Please join your friends and neighbors, as well as many invited guests, as Haverford Township celebrates the grand opening of the Community Recreation and Environmental Center (CREC) on Thursday, June 14th at 7 p.m. at the Haverford Reserve. This beautiful, state-of-the-art facility will be a showplace for Haverford Township for years to come. Click here to read the Grand Opening Invitation.
The facility includes a full-size gymnasium, walking track, multi-use rooms, wellness area and an environmental education lab. There will be activities for everyone (no matter what your interests) at the CREC, including:
- Basketball
- Volleyball
- Indoor soccer
- Dance
- Environmental programs
- Cooking
- Art
- Music
- Drama
- Nature
The CREC is a LEEDS-certified facility, which offers a wide variety of programs for residents of all ages. According to the U.S. Green Building Council, the LEEDS ("Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design") certification "provides independent, third-party verification that a building, home or community was designed and built using strategies aimed at achieving high performance in key areas of human and environmental health: sustainable site development, water savings, energy efficiency, materials selection and indoor environmental quality." June Commissioners Meeting Date Changed to Tuesday, June 12, 2012
The June meeting of the Board of Commissioners will be held on Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at the Quatrani Building behind the Township Building. Thanks to the members of the Board who agreed to the date change. This month's meeting conflicts with the Graduation Ceremony for the Haverford Township High School (Commissioner Connell's son and my son are graduating).
