Because of the snow storm, Thursday's trash and recycling collection (for January 27, 2011) is canceled. Regular trash collection will resume on Monday, January 31, 2011; recycling will next be collected on Thursday, February 3, 2011, along with regular trash collection.
The Township also reminds residents that, when possible, please park your vehicles in your driveway so that the snow plows can clear as much of each street as possible. Also, do not drive during the storm unless absolutely necessary.
Please also remember that it is a violation of the Township's ordinances for any property owner or his or her contractor, agent or employee to shovel, plow, discharge or otherwise place snow removed from a private property into any street, roadway, sidewalk or alley within the Township.
Finally, please be patient. Snow removal crews are working as quickly as possible to clear the roadways. Thanks for your cooperation! |
YMCA/Bubble Gum Factory Update |
In my last newsletter, I inadvertently forgot to include the following update on the YMCA planned for the former Bubble Gum factory site on Eagle Road.
The Township has learned that the YMCA had been awarded a $3,000,000 grant, in addition to the $500,000 grant obtained through Senator Leach and a $500,000 private donation. This means that the YMCA is well on its way toward having the necessary funding to construct the new building. In addition, asbestos removal work has begun at the property, and the Y is working to obtain the approvals necessary to commence the demolition of the building.
I will continue to keep you informed about the progress on the site. |
