Trash, Yard Waste
& Recycling Calendars Available

The Township has released the 2011 Trash, Recycling & Yard Waste calendars. The calendars will be mailed to all residents; in addition, the 4th Ward (Monday/Thursday pickups) calendar may be downloaded in a variety of formats (including a single-page color-coded version and a Microsoft Outlook compatible version) by clicking here. A copy of the Tuesday/Friday calendar is also available by clicking here. The Township has also continued the highly successful yard waste pickup program, including Christmas tree pickups.

The following is a summary of the 2011 schedule for the 4th Ward and all Monday/Thursday pickup Wards:

*Trash will continue to be collected on Mondays and Thursdays
*Recycling will be collected on Thursdays (and on Wednesdays during weeks with a Thursday holiday) *Yard Waste (such as leaves, branches, and other clippings) will be collected on most Wednesdays from March 16 through October 26
*Christmas trees will be collected on Wednesday, January 5, 12 and 26, 2011 and on February 2, 2011.

Containers must be placed at curbside no later than 6:30 a.m. on collection days; pursuant to the Township Code, containers may not be placed at curbside earlier than dusk the night before.

Library Restores Hours

The The Haverford Township Free Library has restored six hours to its weekly operating hours, thanks to additional funding it received from the Board of Commissioners and Township Manager Larry Gentile.
