Haverford Township residents will continue to enjoy curbside leaf pickup. There will be no changes in the manner in which leaves are collected this year.

Walker Cup Traffic Restrictions

Merion Golf Club will host the Walker Cup, one of amateur golf's major events, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, September 11, 12 and 13, 2009. Because of the tournament, Ardmore Ave between Darby Road and Haverford Road will be closed each day from 6 a.m. until approximately 6:00 p.m. In addition, similar restrictions will be imposed on Golf View Road, Sunnybrook Lane, Golf House Road, Cambridge Road and Taylor Lane. Residents will be issued vehicle passes so that they are able to access their properties. Police will be present to assist with traffic.

********************************************************************************** Next Billboard Hearing - September 17th
On Thursday, September 17th, the Haverford Township Zoning Hearing Board will hold another public hearing on the challenge by the Bartkowski Group (also known as "BIG") to the Township ordinance prohibiting construction of billboards, a ban that I wholeheartedly support.
The hearing will be held on Thursday, September 17, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at Lynnewood Elementary School on Lawrence Road in Havertown.

Commissioners to Consider Architect's Contract for Haverford Reserve
The Board of Commissioners will vote on the proposed architectural contract for construction of a recreation facility at the Haverford Reserve at our September 14, 2009 meeting. Based on comments by some Commissioners, there appear to be differences of opinions among the Commissioners about the scope of the facility to be built. As a result, I urge you to attend the meeting and to let me and the other Commissioners know your feelings. |
